The Series
Th-bwegugeu
I didn't eat much as a kid, and like all moms, my mom was always worried. Till one day, she noticed I was mesmerized by the cartoons on the TV, and as she fed me lunch, I managed to eat more than usual. She got dad to bring in Videotapes of the series and would play it when ever it was lunch/dinnertime.
Always loved the silvery logo *_*
Of course, a lot of people belonging to the generation born in the 80's, have their own stories of love for the sheer awesomeness of ThunderCats! The Original Series by Rankin/Bass Productions that aired in 1985. Ofcourse, in those days, dad translated it all for us. But the stories always seemed so varied and cool! The only action figures I've ever had were those from the Thundercats. Of course, every boy needs his own Sword of Omens too.
No! No! The colors are all wrong! Arrgh
The next time I saw Thundercats ... was in college. Yes! Where most people in colleges and universities around the world have parties, get wasted etc., I was busy watching cartoons and other retro stuff. Though I was and am a big fan of the series, after going through the whole series in a couple of days, I was left wondering what it was that amazed me as a kid. The story lines and plots were good. Now there's a big ass sword ...
(A) That everything could be solved with the sword of Omens
One of the most Annoying creatures ..
(B) Snarf
That looks kinda like out of cats and dogs
Despite all that I still enjoyed the series, and tried to get my hands on the comics. Unfortunately, the comics had too dark a tone, and a very adult theme. No, Thank you! I had no intention of ruining the images of my childhood heroes in my head.
So everything went on ... until last week when I saw this ad and went ... Ooooh! Remake!
And all with a new logo and everything ...
Well, at least it does show some promise ...
